The duration of pregnancy is a special and unique time. Gwiazda Morza, as a Spa by the sea, also offers solutions for expectant mothers. But what exactly can a pregnant woman benefit from when arriving at a spa hotel?
During pregnancy, the first trimester is the most crucial. Because of this, most treatments or services offered by hotels are not recommended. SPA treatments are not advised due to the risk of miscarriage and the risk of genetic defects in the baby. Treatments involving strong active substances are also not recommended. Strong massages are excluded as well.
The second trimester is a different story. It is the most favorable period for a pregnant woman who wants to go to a hotel by the sea. The only exceptions are individual medical indications.

At our Gwiazda Morza SPA Institute, we have prepared two treatments dedicated to pregnant women. The first is AQUATHERM, which aims to intensely hydrate and oxygenate dry and sensitive skin. It has a calming and soothing effect. It strengthens the skin's resistance to external factors. It prevents premature skin aging. The second treatment is the SHANTALA massage. It relaxes and reduces muscle tension. The massage is based on a stroking touch. It improves sleep quality.
An advantage of the hotel by the sea is, of course, the possibility of bathing in the sea and sunbathing outdoors. Holidays at the Baltic Sea during the second and third trimesters are, according to our specialists, an ideal time to enjoy the sun because natural vitamin D has a positive effect on both the mother’s and the baby’s body. It is important to take proper precautions, i.e., protecting the belly from radiation, preferably by covering it and using protective filters. Winter holidays by the sea? Interestingly, pregnant women can also... take cold water swims! There are no official contraindications for cold water swimming during pregnancy, but it requires medical consultation.

Our specialists also recommend using the swimming pool. This way, expectant mothers have the opportunity to relieve their bodies, especially the spine and legs, while also strengthening muscles through movement in water and swimming. Using the jacuzzi is not advised in the third trimester either, as intensive hydromassage may induce miscarriage or premature labor. Therefore, we recommend our rooftop pool to future mothers. Fresh air, sunshine, lifeguard supervision, a view of the sea and Władysławowo are undoubtedly its advantages.
Our SPA Institute staff do not recommend using the sauna during the first trimester due to high temperatures. This may cause congenital defects in the baby. After the first trimester, sauna use is allowed but with great moderation due to the risk of fainting. Therefore, for determined women, we offer short visits to our Infrared sauna, which has the lowest temperature and alleviates back and joint pain. We also offer a foot bath for gentle foot massage with cool rain falling from the ceiling and a relaxation room with a salt wall.
Physical activity is recommended if the pregnancy is progressing normally. However, the kind of activities a pregnant woman can do depends on her previous lifestyle. Therefore, we encourage individual consultations with our trainers. Classes in our pool or gym (equipped with PRECOR® and HOIST® equipment) will be adapted to individual capabilities. Exercises should be performed with less intensity than before pregnancy, but they will provide many benefits for the expectant mother’s body and her baby.
