Autumn has arrived, the days are getting shorter, and the evenings cooler. Regardless of the location, we prefer to spend our time on the couch with a mug of mulled wine, hot chocolate, or tea, immersing ourselves in books, movies, and series. Of course, at Gwiazda Morza Resort Spa & Sport, even on such days, boredom is impossible. A pool, saunas, a restaurant, Spa await you… but if that doesn't convince you, maybe you'll spend time at the hotel through the glass screen?

Hotels have permanently settled in cinematography. The Shining, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia!, Maid in Manhattan, Hotel Transylvania, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Casino Royale, Psycho… we could keep listing forever! Many of these are cinema classics, but a few titles that we would like to recommend to you for long autumn evenings are true gems. It takes more time to find them, but trust us – it’s worth it.

Lost in Translation (2003)

Sofia Coppola's film is a story about intimate feelings, the sense of loneliness, and reflecting on decisions made. A chance meeting between a middle-aged actor and a young married woman gives rise to an extraordinary and strong relationship, where two seemingly completely strangers begin to connect on so many levels. It is a calm film, full of atmospheric music and shots that show, on one hand, cultural differences, and on the other – universal life truths. It's amazing how many subtle feelings can be conveyed through simple scenes like a solitary walk, standing together in an elevator, lying in bed, phone conversations, or a bustling city. There is no bold romance here, but a heartbreaking friendship.

Million Dollar Hotel (2000)

This film is a tribute to the quirky cultural diversity of New York and to U2's music, which is so hypnotic combined with the scenes that one absolutely loses track of time and lets themselves be swept into the daily lives of the hotel’s eccentric residents. The impressions it leaves behind are utterly unique, full of melancholy, love, sensitivity, and magical U2 music.

Four Rooms (1995)

Quentin Tarantino's film will certainly appeal to those who enjoy dark humor. All from the perspective of a hotel bellboy. And although the presented stories are drastic and absurd, with an unusually strange humor, anyone who has worked in a hotel will see many analogies in this movie. Books could be written, and multi-season series created about the hidden secrets of hotel guests and the life that unfolds in a hotel. What can certainly be said about this film is that it is… peculiar. And it belongs to the type of films you can't "unsee."

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

A colorful, humorous, surreal crime comedy with a cast so remarkable that it's hard to believe so many could fit into one film. Its costumes and exaggerated interior decorations evoke baroque combined with old Hollywood. Grotesque scenes, caricatured acting, and music that guides us through the film like a train journey through Central Europe. Surely, the combination of so many sweet "flavors" could overwhelm the entire dessert and make the viewer feel sick, but in the end, we get an exquisite pastry in the form of the Chocolate Courtesan from Mendl’s bakery.
